Choose the right discussion

• Installation, Kernels & Boot: installation stages, kernel configuration, boot loaders and EFI questions.
• Packages, Ebuilds & Overlays: package builds, dependency questions, local patches and ebuild changes.

Make a report reproducible

State the architecture, profile, package or kernel version, relevant USE flags and the exact operation that failed. Include the first useful error and enough surrounding output to explain it. Mention local patches and overlays, and redact machine-specific secrets.

When replying to an old blog post, link to that article and explain which parts still match your setup. A historical boot or kernel workaround should be tested in its stated environment before it becomes a new guide. Continue the discussion in the Gentoo forum.
